It's Time for Another Smart Cycling Class, Get Ready to Ride!
Smart Cycling 101 is offered once again beginning Sept. 13, 2009 at Bikerowave in Mar Vista. Register with Santa Monica College Continuing Community Education at http://commed.smc.edu or call 310-434-3400 and ask for Smart Cycling.
I took the Smart Cycling class from Ron Durgin with a group of Santa Monica High students and found it extremely valuable. If you are intimidated by cycling in Los Angeles this class will make you cycle more safely and confidently.
President of Sustainable Streets, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation located in Los Angeles with a mission of building healthy communities by encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in active transportation for their everyday mobility needs.
Volunteer work includes serving on the Public Advisory Committee for Culver City's bicycle pedestrian master plan, BikeWritersCollective, Bike Working Group steering committee, LA Greensters, Heal the Bay, TreePeople, and Greenpeace.
