Please attend if you can we need input from as many stakeholders as possible to enrich the content of the conversation. Introduction

This blog is intended to be a forum for promoting the bicycle for everyday use in the Los Angeles area. Over the last 1oo years the automobile has reigned supreme as the tool of choice for transporting Americans, and Los Angeles continues to serve as the preeminent leader of the car culture revolution in the United States. In  my view it's time for a modal shift away from personal mobile emission devices towards sustainable transit options, especially in urban areas like Los Angeles.

The bicycle is a proven technology with almost 200 hundred years of engineering advancements, making it an efficient and viable technology for moving people and goods. In addition, the bicycle is a widely accepted leisure and sport activity that can improve the health and well-being of American citizens. Now is your chance to make a difference, dust off that bike and give it a try on your next short trip.

Thank you for joining me in my quest to help bicyclists ride safely and legally in Los Angeles. I hope this blog will inspire more people to get on a bike and ride instead of driving a car.

Cheers,
Ron Durgin
